"I just began my training with Rotorworks while I was working in the oil patch. After a hard hit in the industry and the company I worked for being bought out, I left the oil patch and moved back home to the West Coast. I could have chosen to continue my training closer to home in the lower mainland, but I knew the training would be worth moving back to Whitecourt temporarily to complete it with Jim and his crew.

Rotorworks holds an extremely high standard of training. It is a school of personal and dedicated one-on-one training with very competent and experienced instructors. Their approach from the start is operationally focused. From location, ground crewing, to flying, Jim and Ryan train and pass on their knowledge and experience of realistically what it is to fly operationally. A couple of weeklong visits out to Jim’s cabin gave us real world operational experience in remote and winter conditions. As well as continuous ground crewing throughout our training for Synergy Aviation, a sister company to Rotorworks, we are able to graduate with a strong foundation of experience, network connections, and references.

Jim and Ryan would tell us their primary goal is when we graduate with 100 hours, we will be flying at a standard of a 200 hour pilot; to be able to walk naturally into a paid operational position with strong basic knowledge and experience already at hand. I can attest that this is their top priority, and they have the experience and knowledge to back this up.

You don’t just go to Rotorworks to get your helicopter license; you go to Rotorworks to become a helicopter pilot.

Thank you Jim, Ryan, and Sean for an overall awesome experience and the invaluable training and knowledge you guys provide to your students."
